Overview
New flooring is the change homeowners notice every single day, and the one where the subfloor decides the outcome. Old material comes out, the subfloor is checked and prepared, and the new floor is set with the transitions, thresholds and trim finished properly — because a good floor installed against a bad baseboard still looks like an unfinished job.
In Greater Baton Rouge
Slab-on-grade construction is the norm across this part of Louisiana, and moisture moving through a slab is the usual reason a floor fails early. Material choice and subfloor preparation are made with that in mind rather than assumed away.

What to expect
How this work actually goes
The old floor comes out first, properly
Removal and haul-out are part of the work. What is underneath gets looked at before anything new is laid over it.
The subfloor is prepared, not covered up
Flat, sound and dry. A plank floor telegraphs every dip and every soft spot underneath it within a year.
Trim and transitions are finished
Baseboards, quarter round, thresholds and door undercuts are part of a finished floor, and are included in the scope rather than left for someone else.
