Overview
A backyard rarely fails because one piece was built badly. It fails because the patio, the kitchen, the shade structure and the planting were decided at different times by different people, and none of them accounts for the others — the grill ends up where the afternoon sun is worst, or the patio sheds water toward the house. Planning the pieces together is the entire advantage of having one company coordinate them.
In Greater Baton Rouge
Two things shape outdoor projects in the Baton Rouge area: rain and sun. Patios need to shed water deliberately and away from the house, because the rain arrives hard and all at once. Shade decides whether a space gets used in July or looked at through a window. Both are worth settling before anything is poured or framed.
What this covers
- Outdoor kitchens
- Patios
- Pergolas and outdoor structures
- Outdoor carpentry, decks and railings
- Landscape improvements
- Walkways and hardscape integration
What it includes
Six pieces, one project.
Each of these can be done on its own. Done together, each one changes what the others should be — which is the argument for having one company hold the whole thing rather than three companies holding a third of it each.
Outdoor Kitchens
Cooking, counter and storage space built for outdoor conditions, positioned around prevailing sun, prep room and where people actually stand while food is cooking.
Patios
The surface everything else sits on. Sized to the furniture that will go on it and sloped to move heavy rain away from the house rather than toward it.
Pergolas & Structures
Shade and shelter — pergolas, covered areas and outdoor structures — built and placed for the time of day the space is actually used.
Outdoor Carpentry
Decks, railings, screens, privacy walls and the built details that connect a structure to the house, in materials chosen for this climate.
Landscape Improvements
Planting, beds and landscape work that finishes the built areas instead of being worked around them afterward.
Hardscape Integration
Walkways, steps, edging and grade changes that tie the patio, the structures and the yard together as one space rather than several.

Common projects
What people usually call about
- An underused backyard planned and built as one project
- A patio sized and sloped for the way the space will be used
- A shade structure added over an existing patio
- Deck and railing work, including refinishing
- Landscape improvements tying built areas into the yard
What to expect
How this work actually goes
The pieces get planned against each other
Where the kitchen goes changes where the shade needs to be, which changes the patio. Deciding those together is cheaper than discovering them one at a time.
Water is dealt with deliberately
Where rain goes when it comes off a roof and across a patio is a design decision here, not something to find out during the first storm.
One point of contact across the trades
An outdoor project touches concrete, carpentry, utilities and planting. You talk to Integrity Home Solutions about all of it.
